:new::new: Oh my. dA-lta.

First of all, I want to thank everyone who commented and read yesterday's article Writers, the Future is here! We had a heart-warming and overwhelmingly positive response to it -- especially once people saw the date on the calendar! As the day went on, the bare bones of the dAlta plan became more and more embellished...

Exchange rates:
one-month subscription =

*Halatia attampted to introduce an exchange rate of one velociraptor to 100 cats, but I quickly headed off that bit of shameless artificial currency fixing.
**Unicorn dust was not an acceptable form of payment, due to its variance in weight per horn.

Adjustments to dAlta design:
  • Transport for the dAlta administration will include an aerial equivalent of a stretch Hummer -- after a subscription price hike, of course.
  • The addition of a "crimzen eraser" badge to the "wizard pencil" and "super pen" lineup.
  • The implementation of "Lit Tokens" to protect the real masters of lit, and Ferrari's.
  • A vote-based Literature DD system
  • The introduction of ikazon's ideas into the dAlta system.
  • The dAlta Scholarship Fund to which writers may apply and which will offer three-year loans or, for some outstanding members, cover up to one and a half months on the site.
  • Halatia's outreach to "ThinkGeek" to bring complimentary Canned Unicorn Meat to each and every dAlta dAlta-meet.
  • The negotiations with the American Association of Unicorn Handlers to allow us to bring live unicorns to our headquarters.

As you can see, my imagination ran away with my typing fingers. :B

A few dAlta Alpha testers stopped by the article as well to share their impressions, and a few groups spread the word about the article.

And needless to say it was, of course, an April Fools joke. None of this (no, not even the unicorns) will be happening, nor are there any similar plans in the making. I'd also like to say that this article truly did highlight how strongly we as writers feel about the site and how invested we all are in making it the best there is. You guys are wonderful -- and thank you for making this first of April a blast.

I also know that some people have expressed real concerns over the course of the prank, and so I'm gonna put a plug in for us as GMs here: Please please send us notes if you have something on your mind. We will do our best to address any concerns you have, and those that we cannot address, we'll pass on up and get you an answer as soon as we can.

I love you. More updates coming soon -- March Reading Madness results, the forum and poll round-ups for March, the DD's for the month, and other shenanigans.

I'm considering having an independent third party verify the veracity of all lit GM news articles from now on. :)
